Preventive healthcare courses and offers – improve your health
According to the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), personal lifestyle has a bearing on around half of all chronic conditions. Changes in how we eat and exercise and in our sense of wellbeing can all have a major impact. Prevention comprises measures designed to prevent specific health disorders and their negative effects from occurring.
It’s a great start if you can lead your life according to your own wishes and needs while addressing the challenges that chronic diseases entail. Taking your own life into your hands, also called self-management, is a key component of disease management programmes, and also of the following preventive courses.

I really enjoy the weekly cancer sports group led by an excellent therapist. Exercise is encouraged, underused muscle groups are brought into play and balance is improved. And it also helps with relaxation. The friendliness and interchange among the participants is motivational and makes us all glad to be alive. I wouldn't ever want to be without this group course. I'm very grateful for SWICA's valuable financial support.

The exercises in the cardiac group are led by a specialist and are specially adapted to me and my situation, which I really appreciate. I do a lot of muscle training and work on my coordination. I feel better, and of course the exercises also strengthen my body and make me fitter. I think it's great that SWICA supports the heart group. The programme is very personal and I would recommend everyone to take up this offer.
