Aletsch Fiesch mountainer centre

Experience the Aletsch glacier, the largest glacier of the Alps, firsthand during a three-hour tour with a local mountain guide.

The tour sets out at 8:15 from the office of the Aletsch Fiesch mountaineer centre in Fiesch, where a guide will distribute all the equipment you need. A cable car then takes you up to Fiescheralp and on to Eggishorn at 2,869 metres above sea level, where amazing views onto numerous 4,000-meter peaks and the Aletsch glacier are bound to take your breath away. From there you'll start your descent to Märjelensee, where you'll take a short break in the glacier hut at edge of the tarn. After some refreshments the tour continues on to the Aletsch glacier, and after 1½ hours of walking, secured by a rope and enriched by insightful details and stories about the glacier, you'll have earned your lunch during a break on the medial moraine of the glacier. The trail then takes you from the glacier hut up over Fiescheralp and back down to the place where you started in Fiesch.
